About Us
About Shri
Like most Sanskrit words Shri cannot be defined with one English word. Shri is splendor; the magnificent light that shines from the rays of the sun, gleams off the water and twinkles from one’s eyes. Shri is the goddess Lakshmi; she is divine beauty both elegant and graceful. Shri is abundant and reminds us that there is always more; the universe is expanding. Shri is sacred and affirms life.
When we begin to practice Yoga and its life affirming philosophy and approach, that good feeling we first experience often deepens into true joy - SHRI. By recognizing and acknowledging that brightness and goodness, you will help to magnify the Shri all around you. Yoga helps us slow down and begin to develop greater awareness. As you stop and smell the roses, notice the color of the sky or the dew sparkling on the grass etc., then like the radiance of a star you will magnify Shri all around you and within you.
Mission
Honor all on their yoga journey and help them learn, respect and radiate the practice. To create a comfortable learning space for all levels of students, with instructors offering experience, knowledge and compassion
Strategy
Mutual respect and egalitarianism.
Teachers
Our instructors all come from various lineages, please see bios for specifics. One unique quality of our staff is almost all Shri instructors have been teaching for at least 5 years and all Niyama Hot teachers have an extra certification in Niyama Hot Yoga.
Practice
Bring the sacred practice into an accessible form.
Gather teachers that are students, who carry the lineage of various traditions to the Shri Communitiy.
We believe in one another, the “light in me shines brighter because of the light in you.”
